Does anyone else find these Christmas display windows of the major dept stores a touch on the macabre / dark / spooky side? And apart from Bergdorfs - which are quite beautiful (but not joyful) quite hard edged bordering on futuristic (I mean, Gaga=holiday cheer??? I admire her, but really???). Where is the whimsy, sugarplum, pretty, snowy, joyful?!!? Call me old fashioned…but thats what I want at Christmas (especially in these times. Just sayin’).. I’m sure its possible to have that and be edgy.
